1. The minimum length bowled be 20 yards and the maximum be 40 yards.  
  players may request a measure before bowling the first wood. A 20 yard string to be made available at each green.

2. A plain standard Jack to be used.  
3. A player be allowed one throw of the Jack. Should the Jack not be a mark ( i.e. not a yard either way on the green  
  or contrary to rule 1.) the player be allowed a second throw, if then it is not a mark, his opponent shall be allowed  
  one throw and so alternatively until a mark is established. Player first throwing the Jack to bowl the first wood.   
  The mat must be a minimum of ONE yard on the green measured to the closest point of the mat.  
4. The mat may be moved up to one yard from the last resting place of the Jack and as far back as required but in  
  line with the last end.  
5. That one foot be on or above the mat when the wood is delivered.  
6. That any player moving his wood or woods without the consent of his opponent, that wood or woods so moved  
  not to count, and any player moving his opponent`s that wood or woods without concent, then that wood or woods to count.   
7. That if a wood touches any obstacle on its course it shall be dead and re-bowled. On a green split by a dividing string  
  any wood touching that string on its way up the green, or coming to rest, shall be deemed dead and be removed  
  from field of play. Any wood that comes to rest on an obstacle surrounding the green will also be deemed dead and   
  removed from the field of play  
8. A dead end shall be deemed when the Jack is of the green, in the case of a draw measure, the end to be recorded with   
  no score and the end not re-bowled. For the following end, the Jack to be thrown by the player winning the end prior.  
9. That in the progress of a game players shall not change their woods without their opponents concent.  
10. league matches will consist of 8 singles and 2 doubles of 15-up. In all games other than singles, players shall bowl two and two.  
11. A team will consist of between 8 and 12 players with no player to bowl in more than 1 single and / or 1 double.   
12. That matches start at 6.30 p.m with 2 games to start by 6.45 p.m. Any person or persons playing in club or county competitions after the start time, or practicing on any part of the green one hour before the match, he or she cannot play in the match.

13. All games to be played at the discretion of the Home Team Captain or the first team out of the draw. Once drawn names   
  not be altered unless the player or players concerned are not present. In the event of a player being taken ill during the game,  
  it is at the discretion of the two captains whether a substitute be allowed. This person must not have already played.  
14. That if no players are available after 15 ninutes vacant green, all remaining games will be forfeited 15:0 as applicable. Teams failing  
  to turn up, unless in accordance with rule 17, will concede two points to their opponents and a score equal to the average winning score  
  for that division that particular week.  
15. That matches be played as per fixture list. Cup Competitions being given preference.  
16. A team will be allowed to re-arrange a league fixture, provided the written application is with the secretary and fixture secretary,  
  at least three weeks prior to the fixture date, stating a satisfactory reason for the application. Clubs re-arranging a fixture to take  
  place before the scheduled date to be exempt from the above  
17. A re-arranged match must be played on the date agreed by both captains.  
18. In an abandoned Match where two or more games have been completed then for the re-arranged fixture these games will stand 
  but the remaining games to be re-drawn and played within four weeks of the original scheduled date.   
  Where a match is postponed due to bad weather, this game must also be rearranged within four weeks of the original scheduled date. 
  Failure to agree a date will result in a date being fixed by the delegates.  
19. All matches to be played within two weeks of the final scheduled League fixture.  
20. No cancellations to league or cup matched to be accepted for county rink fixtures.  
21. Any team not able to to use their green for the Wednesday fixture may apply to the Delegates to bowl their home matches  
  on Tuesday.  
22. Each player will be automatically registered from the first time he or she bowls for that club, in each season. A player may apply  
  in writing to the Delegates for permission to transfer to another Club. A player will be allowed only one transfer per season   
  and that only after the Delegate have given approval.  
23. For Clubs with more than one team in the league, 8 regular players per team will be registered with the Secretary, prior to commencment 
  of each season. These players can play in higher but not lower divisions. A player cannot bowl for more than one team in the same division 
  A player can play up for a team or teams in a higher division no more than twice. i.e. A `C`team player could play up for the 'A' team 
  or the 'B' team twice or the 'A' team once and the 'B' team once ( in total no more than two matches without losing their 'C' team 
  status. A 'B' team player could play two games for the 'A' team ) No player can play in more than one Match scheduled fot the  
  same fixture date.  
  Clarification : No league player can play for more than one team in league matches in any one week.  
24. Results of matches to be decided on aggregate score, with 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw.  
25. A Match result card must be received by the Secretary, from the home team by 12 noon on the following Saturday.  
  Any team failing to do so will be fined.  
26. That where "strings" are called for, a player from either side will measure the distance from the Jack to their respective woods 
  using an authorised measure. That their decision is final. The contesting players must NOT be involved in any decision making. 
  That all disputes during the Match to be settled by the two Captains. If an agreement cannot be reached the dispute will go before 
  the Delegates.  
27. Teams failing to turn up to a league fixture without adhering to rule 17 will be fined £1 for each registered player (max 8 players) 
  this rule should also apply to cup competitions where less than 72 hours notice has been given.  
  Teams failing to complete their fixtures, for any reason, will be fined an amount to be decided by the delegates.  
28. The use of floodlights is at the discretion of the home team Captain.  
29. Any mobile phone activated on the green will result in that person automatically forfeiting their game 15-0.  
30. In the event that more than one match is to be played on any green in the K&DMWBL, that green to be played on must be roped off.   
  The practice of having an "open green" to be abolished.
